Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! I love Maryott's! They send great plants, and fantastic bonus plants! I always try to buy when they have the buy one get one free special going on, and even then, they send fantastic bonus plants! Each one that I've bought from them has bloomed in the first year. Not sure if that will happen with this horrible heat wave on the way, but don't be surprised if they do bloom as soon as it cools down.

Most had cut scapes with the fans, but I have heard others say the same thing, Natalie, that would be great.

Kyla, they do send nice plants and generous bonuses Smiling

Problem is working through that huge list of daylilies! I am only on the second section of the alphabet. I don't see a way to sort by price, which is what I have to do. So gotta look through all of it I guess!

The ones I bought from them arrived with cut scapes and I saw bloom that same summer!

I always type BOGO into their search engine, and it shows the buy one get one free plants. That is a good place for me to start. You can also try typing in a dollar amount, and see if that works.

Yes, click on the "List of All Plants" then use control + "F" that helps a lot, of course "10" will bring up 10 and 100 etc., other than that it works. I love it when sites list all their plants in one list with the prices like this one does. It makes it so much faster to sort through all the hundreds of plants.

Thanks for the tips! And I like the big lists too, actually. My complaint was really more of a whine because I can't just, yanno, shop? Hilarious! But I will try those tricks too.

I tried the search engine for price, and it didn't work. If you have super hero powers, you can scroll down and just look at the price, but not pay any attention to the picture.

Good luck with that. Apparently I have no super hero powers, because I couldn't do it either.

needrain said:I think you'll be able to manage them, Gale. The temperature at any given time in my area can be erratic, but I've received fall orders when my temperatures were in triple digits. I soaked them overnight in a bucket of water and then planted them in pots. The pots were located where they would get some morning sun, but were protected from mid-day and afternoon sun. After a week or so, I moved where they were getting more hours of sun. They did fine. It's worrisome when the temperatures are that high, but the daylilies managed it pretty well.

Gale, I completely agree with Donald. I've gotten plants in hot weather and had rot problems with them just in water (even if changed daily) or in the ground. I'd soak them in a mild solution of Super Thrive to give them a tonic and then put them in pots. Those in the kiddie pool should do well until things cool down.

I think if the crowns are not under water, the plants would be just fine.

I have left daylilies out of water for as much as 3 weeks. Then I SOAKED them for a day and all ok. I have put them in kiddie pools when I was the one who took the left over plants from our clubs sale to be later donated to the local ARC of RI, which as one of its many outlets for developmentally and physically challenged adults includes horticultural therapy. There was some rot as the director and I could not get together for a couple of weeks and she had the volunteer pitch the tags ( now 4 years later she has decided names are important and wants me to label them...) Before I left for Atlanta I could not get to all my garden chores. I threw several H. PANDORA'S BOX on the compost pile, shaded, and they are healthier looking than the ones I heeled in or potted. Still have 1gift plant left to plant in its permanent location Herrinton's Wizard of Oz, which I will get to today. Daylilies are tough, no matter how you take care of them in this zone 6a where no air conditioner has been taken out of the closet yet. I will still be acquiring and moving throughout the season and I rarely lose a plant.
Crazy me is in the process of alphabetizing my garden by hybridizer (SIGNS jump around during the winter) and I'm only up to H. Only a few cultivars have spit out one or two blooms: Bejeweled, Lady Fingers, Lavender Tonic, Adams Street, Decatur Jewel. However, Hera Help Us ( Cunningham ) looks promising but an old favorite Promises Promises ( Warner) is already gorgeous! Multiple blooms and prolific buds. Meanwhile am hoping Green Icon ( Doorakian) will scape but Zachary Hickey is competing with it, as they are both new to me.
