Is it too late in the season to prune the new growth off my boxwoods? I live in Michigan zone 5. I will shape them rather hard..

Yes my pruners are sharp. As to the terminal end..I am sorry I don't understand. If I prune.. Won't I cut off the terminal ends? Tx for your reply.
