This is a plant I steer away from, it always seems too formal for my mopsy garden. I will be paying close attention to how folks mix it up, as it is such a pretty flower. Bring it on!

I must say I have them everywhere and I don't consider my garden elegant. They pair nicely with coneflowers, delphiniums, peonies, daylilies, zinnias... And there are so many different types, heights colors, various bloom times. Some have fragrance while others do not. And the bulb planted does not take up a lot of room.

I'm sure the problem is at my end, which is why I look forward to inspiration!

Deb, try some of the short lilies to plant in front of taller plants. There are many colors and forms in the Tiny series here:

Keep in mind that lilies don't rebloom so you want to pair it with plants having longer or continuous bloom or nice foliage plants. If you like the shorter ones you might decide to try taller ones for background color.

You appear to live in a place where lilies not only grow, but grow exceptionally beautifully. It is my hope that this week you get inspired.

Lilies have been part of my life now for 15 yrsThe season starts here in November & thanks to all the great people on these forums I have a plethora of fantastic seedlings.. luv it.. and with this new phone /computer thing my daughter brought me ..I should be able to show you all of my pics..
