It isn't Pretorian Guard which has horns/spoons.

I agree with Sherry's point. How long have you had it? If it has been awhile, it will eliminate some of the choices.

yes, my PG does have spoons, but sometimes those are not present, especially on newly planted, until it is established.
I don't think it is PG either. But I just wanted to throw the name out there because it does look similar, so someone interested in that sort of coloring may consider it. It is a good performer for me and gets rather tall. I am leaning toward Thornbird myself. My PG did vary in color quite a LOT, to the point it would make ID difficult, between first opening and say like the next day. Here is a pic of my PG this year, just for reference.

I grow Thornbird in 2 different locations, in full sun which is the first picture and around the base of a tree with half day sun. Photo 2 and 3. Hope this helps.

Thought you were referring to the second NOID when I said it doesn't have horns! *Blush* The first one definitely has horns. I think the first is Thornbird over PG though. PG has whiter standards and purple horns instead of the deep reddish purple of Thornbird.
