It's never good to promise not to buy any more tree peonies. And that one is to die for. Definitely a good find if that's what it is Thumbs up

Lowe's here only seems to get Sarah Bernhardt. No real choices and no tree peonies. Home Depot is even worse and those are really the only two to choose from.

Alaska seems to be getting more and more peony farms, Mary Stella. It looks like a lot of them are going for cut flower market, though. Are you on Facebook? Quite a few Alaskan growers are on the Peony Growers and Peony Lovers groups there.

Hi Jasmin, my real Hanakisoi gave me 4 blossoms. I was so in love. Lovey dubby Sadly one of them was not Hanakisoi. It looks like Haruno Akebono.

Haruno Akebono? It blooms a little later than Hanakisoi.

Both are lovely, Lily! Really like the red edged foliage on the Hanakisoi, though.

Thank you Liz. I do like the foliage of Hanakisoi too. I have Yachiyo Tsubaki and Chinese Dragon on my wish list just for their red foliage. But not buying this year.

There was this house I passed by when I dropped my husband off to work. I knocked at their door to take some pics. I think this is YT.

Last fall, I ended up with 4 High Noon, 2 Hanakisoi, 2 Garden Treasure, 1 Cora Louise and 1 Bartzella. All HN came up true to name and so are GT. Bartz didn't bloom and so is Cora Louise.

Why you bought so many High Noons?

Hi littlebin. Jasmine said HN gets so big and wide (And did some reading online too.), so I went back to the nursery and grabbed all of the HN left. I used them as bones to the bed I just redid. So instead of putting in some boring evergreens, TP is my answer. Win-win! Smiling

littlebin, what can you say about my mislabeled Hanakisoi? Do you think it is Haruno Akebono?

You are right about the similarities. It looks a lot like Cora Louise which is an Itoh.
