Whenever I'm asked what my favorite salvia is, I have to say leucantha/ Mexican Bush Sage...but there are two close runners. I love salvia 'Waverly' for its frilly delicacy..in full sun it's stockier, more solid...but in part shade it's more 'wispy' and I love that look.

And salvia 'Hot Lips'......it's so troublefree and vigorous. This is one plant and it's 5-6 ft across and 4 ft high....

I like Hot Lips, but only in other people's gardens. It was a real thug in mine and I just didn't have the room for it.

The wispy look of Waverly is gorgeous.
