I don't know about that one but we have tree trunks that grow with a vine around them that come out looking like that. Nice for walking sticks or mailboxes etc.

thanks ladies .... i go out into the woods and collect them to make canes with and some are to big for canes so i use them for post . it is small trees with vines growing up them . you can make your own by planting a vine beside a small sapling and keeping the vine winding up the tree . takes 2 or 3 years for a good one but it is worth it in the end .i have done it with grape vines as well as ivy . the best trees are wild cherry , or hickory . the wild cherry grows fast and takes most of the waiting out of the process . locust is great to but takes forever to grow .

Bluegrass mom dogwood trees make very nice ones as well but i feel guilty for cutting them . that's why i stick with the cherry and hickory . lol i have spotted a very pretty one on the line between my property and my neighbors . but i dread asking her about it because she is kind of high and mighty . plus if i cut it and it ends up being on her property without talking to her i could get in trouble since she is a lawyer . soooooooooooo i will just admire that twisted beauty from afar until i get the nerve to ask .

I have moved several small dogwoods from my parents farm. I wanted them in the front yard which is full sun so I have had no luck growing them :(

We do have a small wooded lot on our place, maybe I can look to see if one would be suitable and then just plant a vine close by to train.
