My glue/adhesive of choice for these is E-6000. What does everyone else use?

E6000 is horribly toxic and has caused major health problems when not used correctly. I think GE Silicone 2 should be ok to stick things together for outdoor use. It's flexible and won't freeze and crack.

Yes, you have to use E-6000 in a very well ventilated place. I only work with it outdoors. Smiling

DH just got me some "Amazing Goop - Lawn & Garden". It's a waterproof/paintable/UV resistant permanent bond that dries clear. I haven't used it yet though.

I'll give it a try as soon as I can locate some. I may have to buy it online. We don't have a lot of sources in our small area.

Thankyou for sharing this info. I had seen this glue being used often on this and other threads and was going to get some but I kept forgetting to pick some up. Maybe it is a good thing that I have been so forgetful.

Yes, it was good you never got it. It smells horrible. It does have it's uses, but it should only be used outdoors unless you have a professional hood and fan for fumes. It is wonderful for fixing old costume jewelry. Pieces glued with it never come apart.

Hello everyone, I am brand new to the site. I am having a creators block so I found this forum to help me get back into creating glass totems and bird baths. This is some of my work.

I want to start selling them locally but I find it hard for me to put a price on it. I dont want to scare people away but I do want to cover my costs and put any extra made towards bills. Any thoughts and reviews on what you would expect to pay for pieces like these.

Those really are lovely! You should have no trouble selling them. Have you kept track of what you have invested in materials?

They're beautiful! Look around on Etsy or Ebay and see if you can find something close to yours. I think they should sell well and be very pretty when placed in gardens. Thanks for sharing!

Yes I have, somewhat, kept track of my cost. These are part of the first group of 14 I created and I have $60 invested in them with some extra material left.

It sounds like you could make a nice profit since you have 14 of them and don't have too much invested. Do you pick them up in thrift shops?

You might check with a nursery or garden center. A lot of the places near me feature things like that for sale. I think the artists put them there on consignment. I was thinking of doing mosaicked stepping stones for them, but haven't done it yet.

My first thought, regarding price, was around $15 each. I seem to recall a marketing guy I knew years back saying selling price should be about 2.5 times the cost of materials. So if I understood you correctly, you have somewhere between $4 -$5 in materials in each? Does a price like that make it worth your while? I've seen pretty garden decor on Amazon that runs between $20-30. I'd snap one of these up for $15 in a heartbeat. Particularly those first three. Smiling But a lot depends on prices locally. Look around.
