Sorry, Anna. But I will get a Patricia Fretwell to help out if it looks like being cut. It was on my first list, but I am trying to be at least a LITTLE restrained and took it off. Hilarious!
It’s okay to not know all the answers.

I can't help you with that one, Anna. I've ordered it from three different nurseries, but they have all have suddenly not sent it to me at the last minute, citing crop failure or, in one case, an employee's failure to include the Kiri Te Kanawa plants in the shipping box. I'm beginning to suspect it doesn't exist. Big Grin

Hilarious!
Maybe a ploy to make you pay double for it one day. I had a similar problem with Juuli, although not that many times!

Clematis Kiri Te Kanawa is available from Brushwood now! Maybe it really does exist. Rolling my eyes.

Are you ordering it Anna? I got the email they were open, but haven't looked yet, as I'm scared to.

I ordered it, but I also ordered it from Joy Creek, just in case. I received Kiri Te Kanawa and Hoshi-no-Flamenco from Joy Creek a few days ago in the mail. They're big 1-gallon plants, but all that's showing above the dirt is an inch of brown stems and a forlorn brown leaf or two. I hope they're in there. Smiling

My order from Brushwood was for Kiri Te Kanawa, Andromeda, Diamantina, Dancing Queen, Vyvyan Pennell, and Shin-Shigyoku.

Then yesterday Sue and I went out to some local nurseries and I found Rebecca (hooray, hooray, hooray), Freckles, and Belle of Woking.

I love the start of Clematis buying season!

Good score! Hurray! You must have notifications on some of those, b/c I think I was looking at Diamantina but was unavailable. I ended up ordering
Josies Midnight Blue
Luxuriant Blue
Gravetye Beauty
Star of India
Romantika
Kiri Te Kanawa
Delivery is in April, I am guessing you can plant them anytime.
I lost Freckles that was in a pot this summer, but was also unavailable at Brushwood. It is very rare to find clems at discount prices or any variety around here. Grumbling

Mine will be shipped to me in February. I did get notification that Andromeda and Kiri were in stock again, so I went straight to the website and ordered. Diamantina looks like this year's hot clematis, so I'm not surprised it sold out quickly.

I checked on Diamantina and it is still available. I guess I passed over it b/c I wasn't sure if it would double in hotter climates. Do you know if it does? Both it and Ando are gorgeous Drooling

Sorry, Anna. I don't really know anything about it. I just liked the picture, so I ordered it. I actually never have problems with clems not doubling, though. The ones that are supposed to be double are always double here.

I don't know if it will double for you, Anna, but mine was just gorgeous this year.
