I asked Dan if I can change my order to have Diamantina instead of Gravetye. I will take a chance!

I had some credit with Brushwood for 2 of my images he is using for Polka rose, so I just added my order today:

1 Clematis Bonanza (for my Mom)
1 Clematis Diamantina
1 Clematis Romantika
1 Clematis Arabella (for my Mom)
1 Gelsemium sempervirens Margarita
1 Jasminum officinale Fiona Sunrise

I wanted soooo many more, he has such a great collection, but I still have at least 10 clems in large pots to plant so I can always add some later when I have more things planted and structures added for them to climb.

Last year he added some new ones as the year went along, too. So there may be something new and exciting, Sue, if you wait.

Now to go look at Polka Rose. Nice trade, pics for plants.

It sure is a beauty! And what gorgeous pics. Is your pic the one on the fence, or the close up? I think I need that one!

Those are both of my shots Polly! Green Grin! I took it at a city rose garden but my Mom has a big one & now have my own.

Well, I'm getting it. I also wanted Gloire de Dijon, but that's sold out. Where would you suggest a beginner rosarian should look for varieties? I never had much luck with roses before, but now that I'm pretty much retired I can spend the time with them that they need, so a few climbers for next year.

Thanks Sue, you are always so helpful!

Come on over to the Rose forum & post a new thread for suggestions for your zone! We'll steer you right!
Gloire de Dijon is a Tea Noisette rated for zone 7 and above so probably wouldn't be a good choice anyways fo someone just jumping into roses.
Polka is a big tall shrub so good against a fence.
This is a site we often use to check other people's ratings and comments and check all the images. http://www.helpmefind.com/rose...
We hope our database will be just as detailed some day!

Will do.

Brushwood has it listed as Z 6, and I am Z6, and it would be in a protected area?

I can't tell you anything about growing in cold zones!

Here are member ratings for Gloire de Dijon, as you can see, cold hardiness isn't the greatest. http://www.helpmefind.com/rose...

But you may be able to get some other suggestions for something similar looking. Green Grin!

I'll try it anyway. Sometimes we just need to try. But I'm going over to roses forum.
