Thread OP

Hi everyone. I'm fairly new at all this gardening stuff, and I have a beautiful croton in my apartment. Today I just noticed that there are some little sprouts in the pot, and I'm not sure if it is something I should remove or if it's nothing bad. Thank you for your help!

Hi gdsalome, Welcome! to All Things Plants!

Those little sprouts may be a weed of some sort, originating from seeds that were already in the soil. At that small stage they shouldn't be cause for concern.

By the way, I don't see stems or a trunk on your Croton (Codiaeum variegatum) but rather only leaves sticking out of the soil ... did it come planted like that? If so, it may be planted a tad bit too deep.

Alright, thank you for the fast reply! And yes, it came like that. Do you think I should repot it so that there's some more trunk sticking out of the soil?
That's what it looks like from farther away.

Hi gdsalome, and Welcome!

I know I'm a bit late here, but if you haven't already re-potted this baby, I'd at least pull some of that soil back away from the trunk. Smiling Let us know how it's doing! Thumbs up It's a pretty plant, and pretty indestructible. Thumbs up
