I rescue discarded plants sometimes. This thing is in a 12" pot. It has a woody trunk about 4" high. There are woody roots or suckers coming out of the trunk above ground. It has long celery like stems that end in one large leaf which is irregular and seem to have a slight curl on each arm of the leaf.
Back in business. Had a bad usb patch cord.

Can you possibly take a photo of your plant to upload here? It's probably going to be impossible to give an exact ID without seeing the plants characteristics. If you can, try to take a photo of the entire plant from a little distance and a photo of the leaves. I can't even venture a guess with just the description but hopefully others will pop in with suggestions.

The following are just a few suggestions based on the description you've given but it really could be one of thousands of plants. If you get a chance in the next few days to post a photo or two I'm almost certain we can figure out exactly what plant you have.

Castor Beans (Ricinus communis) also has the common name of Caster Oil Plant.
Tree Philodendron (Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum) and many other Philo's have aerial roots.
Weeping Fig (Ficus benjamina) can also have aerial roots.
Ming Aralia (Polyscias fruticosa) has celery looking leaves.

Thank you eclayne. That's what it is. The photo you showed was out of doors. I'm in west Central Fl. Should I repot, or maybe put her in the ground?

My guess would be P. Xanadu.

Here's Thaumatophyllum xanadu for comparison. I see @plantladylin grows both.

I agree with eclayne .... the plant in question looks to be Philodendron bipinnatifidum You should be able to plant it in the ground here in central Fla. I live on the east coast of central Fla. in Daytona Beach and they grow in the ground here. Winters with frosts or a hard freeze will leave them looking pretty pitiful for awhile but if they have a decent layer of mulch to protect the roots, when warm weather returns they will sprout new growth.

Earlier this year we sold the house that we'd owned for 40 years where these were growing. I miss my tree Philo's!
