Thanks everyone but I am not little.
I traveled to Mexico in 1972 and the guide called me "La Vikenga" The viking woman.

Me too until I turned late 60's. I used to load a full size Ford 150 with my booth and 14 krates of pots, everyother weekend from May to October.

LOL I love 'strong like ox' ! My sister is such a wussie; she'll say "why don't you tell DH to..." pffft! I don't tell my honey anything ~ especially when I'm perfectly capable and willing to do the hard stuff myself.
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

It has been too long since Gloria Steinem. Why have women forgotten?

I'm laughing out loud at the last posts!

Reminds me of women who ask "He LETS you do that?" regarding whatever...LETS me??? Not in this household's vocabulary.

And while I am somewhat petite, I only ask for help when I absolutely, positively physically can't do it myself. But I'll darn sure try before I'll ask....And then I'll still try again, before I'll break down and ask.

And I have the wussie sisters who will wait around for months for Honey to do something they could have done themselves in 15 minutes...

LOL. My husband likes to help, so I do 'let' him at times. He was weeding one day before I got up, and fell asleep. I saw him lying on the grass, not moving and thought sure he'd had a heart attack. Nope, just sleeping.

But he doesn't do the things I 'can't', he just works along with me.

I'm all for strong women. I drag 50 pound bags of wood pellets down into my basement & they don't magically appear in my trunk either. I can't think of anyone that would ask me if my DH would "let" me or "allow" me to do this or that. Many women know that if it weren't for them, their household would crumble. Besides, waiting for the man to show up and do the work takes way too long. When I need something done, I need it done yesterday, not next week or the week after.

Having come from a family with 5 girls, there were really no boys to do our work for us. And since then, not much has changed.

Strong women are awesome. No matter what they call us Smiling

Rock on, sista!

When DH and I first got together (not the first time around for either of us) he kept trying to jump in and carry heavy stuff or dig every hole. It was hard for him to not be needed. It was really difficult for me to explain the difference that I wanted him but after having been divorced and a single parent for 10 years, I did NOT NEED a man!

OK... I've softened up in the last 12 years. He's one of those people that love to sweat and work hard in the heat of summer, so I let him. Ugg, too much for me.
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

Moby...I'm in the same situation. He doesn't feel I can't do something, he just really enjoys doing it for me...Actually, having experienced the flip side of the coin, it's not a bad place to be.

Asiatic lilies are 3-4 weeks early here! April surely wouldn't have any more freezes? Yeah right.

What are you doing up so early? Or so late?
