This is one of my favorite daylilies. It has been in my garden since 2013. Bloomed then and ever since. This year 6/9 was the day it first began blooming and continued until the end of July. Great Performer.

( @Emquinn ) Liz - Is that it's foliage behind the bloom in your photo? The bloom is beautiful and so is the foliage. I see that you are in NC .... have you noticed any rust on your leaves at all? I ask because I am always interested in rust resistant cultivars. I really like the look of this cultivar and it appears to be a wonderful parent plant to use in hybridizing.

Only had LBB for two years now. It does draw a lot of interest in our field.
I do note that in this, it's second summer in our garden, it has multiplied a fair bit. It has gone from three fans up to eight, so I'll have to watch this one to see how quickly it multiplies. Ours seems to be a little taller (32/33")than listed (28").
May the blooms be with you!

I have this in the dip and tet forms. I love it. The color is just beautiful and the blooms are always well formed. I have set pods on the dip. It blooms mid-season. I've not counted blooms but as Liz mentioned above, it blooms a long time. I have not noticed rust on it.

I have had LBB for about 8 years and would never part with it. I love the color of it. I did not count buds this year because I did move it to a new location this spring and because of that, scapes were a bit shorter than normal. It does set pods well and pollen is also fertile. One of my favorite seedlings from LBB is this one:

I have both dip and tet LBB. Both are great performers, steady increasers, and fertile. A must have! This is one of my favorites for sure. The colors are beautiful and it has good branching. I will go home tonight and get bud count/branch/height info for a local report.

Jessie - Thank you for your helpful evaluation of this cultivar. Your photos are great! I appreciate you filing a local report later on this cultivar! That info will be especially useful to others (me, included). Thumbs up

LBB has never done great but I love the flower.
Great parent, pod and pollen fertile.
Under 10 buds with about a 24" scape.
LBB never has any splotches.

I've grown this only the past two years, but it has done a fine job settling in. The color is spectacular and unique in my garden. It has increased well and rebloomed for me this year. Very nice cultivar and a good parent plant.

I got lavender Blue baby in dip form in 2011, it has not done well for me, I started with 2 fans and I now have 4, it did not bloom the first 2 years. I do not get many blooms, some are ugly, some are pretty, the flowers are small, 3 & 1/2 inches on 24 inch scapes, sorry I don't have the bud count. Maybe it would do better in another location.

The above photo posted by Becky is not mine, I posted it in the database with permission from BX Creek Daylilies where I purchased my 2 fans.

This is how it looked in my zone 3a garden 2015.

LBB is one of my favorite cultivars. It is not a fast increaser here but it is a good grower. it reaches 26" with a bud count of 14 with 2 way branching. The blooms always have the same lovely color especially early in the day but tend to change as the day heats up. It is early here starting around July 13. In 2017, it also gave me a prolif which helps to increase the clump size.

So, I bought a LBB from Gilbert Wild in 2018. It disappeared over the winter so I bought another one in 2019. It bloomed this year and what do you know? I think they sent me a seedling. The form is LBB but the color is NOT. It's pretty but not what I paid for. I wrote a letter to them a week ago and haven't heard back. Here's the seedling!

Ok. More fun with this plant. I don't know why I don't give up! In 2021, I tried again with G Wild, because it was a free replacement plant. Two small crappy fans, one of which died by Fall.

In 2022, mostly out of frustration, I ordered the plant from Hemhaven. Finally two nice fans! By October they were up to four with a light case of rust. Maybe I'll finally see a flower in 2023?
