Is that a female Ruby Throated hummingbird? I saw a hummingbird for the first time in my garden today and, although it was pretty far away from me, I think it looked pretty close to this one.

Yes, it is a Ruby-throated, but it looks like a young male. The females do not have the "dots" on the throat. Those are his budding gorget. It's not a great picture, but here is a female. :)
