I acquired Mister Lucky this summer! I won't be able to comment yet on it's performance, but I potted it up and it has already grown nice new GREEN foliage that shows no sign of rust. That is ALWAYS a PLUS for me!! Thumbs up Thumbs up

Mister Lucky bloomed this year from 6/11 to 7/1 in my zone 6b garden and even put up a rebloom scape for the first time since I have had it that I can remember. I love the scape height (24") to bloom size (4") ratio and the fact that it blooms above the foliage. A big plus for me!

I purchased a double fan of ML in 2008 for $6. I divided it in 2014 and I know it increased well over the last 7 years because I have given away several starts of it and still have at least 15 fans left.

Some scapes have nicely spaced 3-way branching. Just looking at pictures from years past, bud count seems low, maybe only around 8-10 buds, but as you can see in the picture below, it makes a nice bouquet.

Rust resistance seems to be very good. Looking at pictures from the past 7 years, it does not appear to have much, if any.

pic from 2015 after dividing in 2014. ML is one of those colors that I have a difficult time capturing the true color on.

I didn't realize that I still had the dried up scapes on Mister Lucky. There were a lot of 2-way branching and only 8-10 buds on them. I mentioned 3-way branching, but that was when I was looking at past years' pictures. Just wanted to give a more accurate update before I pulled up the scapes.

Vickie - Thank you for adding more info!

I, personally, look forward to seeing mine grow and bloom next year. Mine is currently a double fan sitting in a pot ready to be transplanted into the ground once I get the new raised bed completed. Due to the rain and now the unbearable heat, I don't know how long it will be before I can finish that bed. It might be another month. I am creating the bed using something totally new in a sloped yard and that is also the other challenge. Here are some of my recently acquired daylilies ... including Mister Lucky. If you try to do a search of this plant anywhere, you have to spell out "Mister". (Typing "Mr." does NOT work.)

Mister Lucky is on the upper left side:

The dl's look good! I also noticed that you still have your vertical herb pallet. It makes a nice backdrop. Hope the heat wave gets over with soon so you can get them in the ground.

I transplanted Mister Lucky in a larger, new raised bed in October 2015. It started blooming here on May 19th, 2016. No stats taken. The bloom was smaller than I expected, but reading the AHS stats it was probably at the size listed or maybe slightly larger at around 4". It is a lovely red bloomer!

I acquired 3 fans and it has not increased. The fans are small and compact at this time. I failed to record stats this year, but this is a photos of 2 of it's blooms from May 2016:
