My brain needs breaks. I get started on "go for it" and my body says "What were you thinking?"

Ha Ha . . . I have the same body . . mind struggle. Got the lilies and iris dug but really didn't even get to the daylilies. All last week I was digging to find our water shut off. Still haven't found it.

And me? I'd be the one who starts the project, then in midst finds something more pressing and goes and starts that, only to see something more pressing or realize that I am late for something and grab the kids and dash to the car (you see where this is going) ...so I'd be the Queen of the Unfinished Project.

I am easily distracted when I'm in pain while digging holes for bulbs or just taking stock of the garden.
Weeds gets me started. Like nuts, you just cant pull just one.

Then I'm the King of unfinished (and unstarted) projects. Last year my excuse was a herneated disc. This year it was recuperating from said, and getting control of the gardens again. What will it be next year?

Herniated disc? Sheesh.... that all?

Yeah, and my doc says I have a very high threshold of pain. After the second herniation in the same disc in late August, I was reduced to crawling around the house 'cause I couldn't stand. Anyway, the surgeon made a one inch incision and scooped out the offending part that put pressure on my nerve, and voila! All better. After the surgery, they made me take a pain killer, I went home the next day, and never took another pill, not even ibuprofin or tylenol. I waited 2 weeks in agony to get the surgeon I wanted, and it was the best decision I ever made.

i think spinal pain and lily growing go 'hand in hand'.as do neck pain,finger pain-can anyone add to it?

Knees !!!! Especially when gardening on a slope

with all the above, now I look outside and see all the leaves, but I think to myself, they make nice mulch just as they are
