Hello everyone. I am several months into an apprenticeship sculpting with non-corrosive metals: copper, brass, and stainless steel. These metals are permanent and beautiful. Regular steel rusts. Stainless steel remains pristine. Copper develops what is known as a patina, a permanent surface layer that artists and art appreciators consider beautiful. Unlike rust, the patina is permanent and will not erode the sculpture. To produce the patina, I bathe the sculpture in acid and treat the Sculpture to my teachers' secret patina process. The metal is cut, shaped, hammered, and brazed. Each is unique because of this process. These are not made from a mold and they will outlast you and never depreciate in value.

I have come to the point in my apprenticeship where I must branch out of the workshop and connect with people interested in the sculptures. I am open to any advice on this as I am a craftsman at heart and have little experience with sales of any kind. I am passionate about the works I produce with my teacher and am open to any advice or personal interest. These are one of a kind art pieces most suited for gardens and earthy aesthetic. We have experience with shipping these pieces and most locations are within our ability to ship to. Thanks in advance for any advice or interest.

Sincerely, Matthew

Welcome! Matthew
We do have a classified forum where you could post some of your creations. And around here some local garden centers let craftsman sell some of their art on weekends.Farmers markets would be another place to consider.
Best of luck.

Yep, I agree. If you have something to sell the classified forum would be your best bet. I could have given a better answer if I knew your location. You may want to take some time to fill in your profile; heck, there could be a customer just down the street from you right now. Thumbs up

I suppose you could consider offering one of your art pieces in our Not-A-Raffle-Raffle. Since shipping is not a problem even the members outside the US would be able to claim that prize. I don't know the rules/regulations etc. for vendors offering prizes buy you could ask @dave how to set that up.

Hi Matthew-I love your sitting frog.
I am not sure where you live. Every spring in Everett, WA there is a sort of garden art festival, with lots of art and plant venders. They call it "Sorticulture". You might look into similar spring garden events near you, and rent a booth.

Welcome to All Things Plants, @PatinaGardenFrogs !! (I love your screen name AND your frogs!!)

I agree, you could post your work on the classifieds forum here (and it wouldn't hurt to show off your creations in the Garden Art forum, either). Smiling
