I saw something like the daff you posted above in Brent and Becky's Catalog. It seemed like it was very pricey. It has a very interestingly different look to it.

Since Buggy is no longer an option for my daffs, I did go through the catalog of B &B's and pick out some already for Fall. Sometimes it's easier for me in the moment of blooming to decide what to add and they have a really great selection, some their own varieties, which were some I chose.

I also noticed some daffs blooming that I got as very baby bulbs from Maxine a few years ago and Wow! They certainly have grow up to pack a punch! Every time I see them I think of Maxine and the garden gatherings of the past.

Aren't gardens so much fun?

Actually, I meant: our matches are 1.5-2.5 inches (3-6.4cm), unless you get the huge 12 inch ones. Anthony, you pic shows a 6-8 inch (15-20cm) tall one? I guess it's hard to tell.

Tracey, I gave up on tulips for the same reason - a deer smorgasbord. I've got a few lilies that are about 8" high already. Still having night time temps in the low 30's though, so I wish they'd stay asleep for a while.

I hear ya! The lilies here are obviously ready to get going. Just about all of them are up. I'm hoping the temps normalize, for all of our sakes, plants and people alike ;)

I worked all day yesterday pulling weeds. Sometimes I think it futile. I look up and swear I see no difference, after hours of hard work. My daughter mowed the lawn first time of the season (can't get the mower out before May 1!), which is at least something concrete that shaped things up.

Always work to do, isn't there? Enjoy it more once the blooming season starts....

Narcissus cyclamineus is normally 6-8 inches. That one really is freakishly tiny if the flower is from a mature plant. It ought to go for a pretty penny!
