Yes the name would be allowed. I just have a thing of wanting my daylily names to be as original as possible, I could put LILLIAN'S in front of most any name in the data base and it would be approved.
I submitted a different name for Windswept Morning Angel that I did not find in the data base but I ended up with the second choice name, so the other must have been reserved. I like unique names as well and have a list that we will work from for future intro's. I guess some of them could be reserved. With daylilies having such a large number of named cultivars, you can work through ideas that someone else already came up with. I have been surprised at a few that are not yet used and on my list. I have also been surprised at some that seemed so original but have already been used. Come on seedlings so I can use those names.
I keep a list of names also and when I see or hear something I like I put it on the list. I play music and I get a lot of ideas from song titles or lyrics.
