This was the most amazing thing! A grasshopper with orange wings, as bright as a male Baltimore Oriole! You cannot tell here, s/he is hiding their glory.


I tried, oh how I tried... But see the orange? :D

It does look to be an Arphia sp., I can't find another which looks closer so maybe they are in your area.

Thank you. Today another one was in the house and I tried getting a photo of the face, but it wasn't cooperating very well. I am sure he was glad to finally be back outside.
