Always great info Dave! Just to add, I found Native American Seeds in Junction, Texas has a Monarch Survival Kit with six varieties of Milkweed. It is a little pricey but I think well worth it to get a stand going on the different milkweeds. All I had was the tropical variety so it was good to get others available.

BTW, I had three Monarchs flying around this evening. That's two more than I had last year

SFA plant sale on Oct 3 is going to have a couple of varieties in their sale. I think they will be one gallon plants. Also, come to the Walker County Master Gardener's "Texas Pollinators Garden Symposium" on Oct 16th and stay over for our Fall Plant Sale and Butterfly Festival on Saturday, Oct 17th. We will have a couple varieties of milkweed and all kinds of Butterfly Bushes/Plants. See our webpage or Facebook page. I bought it even though it's very expensive for what is a weed, and, i dont even like the flowers. But, they do have a variety of milkweed in the kit, and i plan to spread it down the edge of my 400 ft driveway with my 2 pounds of other butterflies mix.
