Thank you Hetty. I will check out Florida Colors. I have a few seeds that I ordered and am not sure they were very fresh. Just thought growing seed would be a nice fall/winter project. I must have green things!

I got mine from brads buds and blooms. And every seed germinated.

Cannot vouch yet for germination, but Brads Buds and Blooms has large selection, reasonable prices and quick delivery. I recently bought >50 seeds of 6 varieties.

Heath and David...Thank you for recommending BB&B. Between Hetty's recommendation and yours I will spend a lot of time looking and deciding. There are so many nice ones to choose from! Now to narrow down my list Would love to see pics of your seedlings.

I would be interested to know which seeds you chose.

Attributes:

Color & flower form - Do I like it? Anything I grow may have great attributes, but I I do not like it, I don't grow it
Plant size - Would like to keep on smaller size as I must winter over indoors
Reviews/Comments from others - here and elsewhere
Price - Some of those from BBB are quite pricey - some very reasonable. My selections were priced from .99 - 2.99

Thanks David. I thought afterward I should have asked what criteria you used. I agree. If a particular plant doesn't speak to you, there are plenty of others that do. Will look up your choices. Prices seem reasonable.

What about your growing method for seeds?

I will start in my basement under lights likely starting in January or so. I use heat mats and plastic domes over standard seed trays. I will also spread them out over 2 or 3 plantings. By April, I can move to my "pretend" green house (el cheapo plastic ~ 5' x 6' x 7').

Any other hints et cetera I will rely on DrDawg who as a neophyte also started growing them from seed ~ 2 years ago. :-)

It is my understanding that they are fairly easy to grow from seed.
