The height is a difference between SDBs & IBs. I assume the registration there was by 'parents' rather than height.

Looked before I leaped. 1951 was before the standard dwarf iris category was formed. It was in the 1950s that pumila & tall bearded pollen was mailed between Paul Cook & Mr Douglas. (I forget his first name at the moment.) Intermediate was the only category available other than tall bearded at that time.
