I wrote an article for Dahlia Week about the Utah Dahlia Society Show that I had the pleasure of attending last Saturday but I wonder if it will be published. It's Dahlia week and the article today is on fruit flies. Anyway I assume this forum is for Dahlia Lovers so I'll share here.

Lynch Creek, Swan Island, Old House Gardens and Brecks are the ones I've ordered from. Do most start selling for the spring much later? I saw a few that didn't have selections for spring 2016--is that more normal for dahlias?

Yes, some always lag behind. I love River's selections! Lynch Creek couldn't possibly have friendlier customer service. Swan Island is as reliable as any company could possibly be.

I had a question about yellow open centers on some of the early dahlias so I wrote to Andy at Lynch Creek and Eugene at River's. Both replied in less than 24 hours and the answer was the same - genetics and weather. I really respect both men for their help.

I know Hollyhill Dahlias doesn't start taking orders until Jan (I think)

The smaller venues want to wait until they dig their tubers and actually see what they have available.
