Do you mean the Nigella sativa aka Black Seed aka Black Cumin?

Also, the seeds should be cooked/heated before you ingest them. Here is a link which explains.

I would need to devote every inch of my garden to grow Black Seed plants to obtain seeds for cooking, but that is not necessary as I can buy a bag of all natural seeds at the Indian grocery store in my home town for about $4 US. Black Seed is one of the ingredients in the Masala mixed spice that I buy in the same store. I cannot advise you which is better for you but I can say that food is medicine. If you eat right you should be more healthy so my best suggestion would be to add the Black Seed to your diet to spice up your food. So many people seem to think that if a little of something is good then a lot would be better. I cannot agree with that theory. Start slowly and add the Black Seed to you diet to get the benefits and eat a balanced diet of an assortment of foods. There are people out there who want to make money by selling the Black Seed oil; not necessary. Just change your diet.

I am not a doctor or a nutritionist; just a plain person. I hope I have helped in some small way. Thank You!

Edited to add:
You can also make sprouts from the Black Seed. Very easy and a good way to obtain the healthy nutrients.
