Strawberry Candy was the one that got me interested in daylilies, I was watching a garden show on TV and it was one of the plants being planted in a mixed flower bed. It was so pretty I never forgot it. I bought it in 2009, it took 3 years to bloom and has been slow to form a clump but usually produces 1 or 2 scrapes per season.

Strawberry candy is one of the first daylilies in my collection as well. A friend gave me a clump because I loved it in her garden. Daylilies have been an obsession since then. This plant moved from my zone 7 garden to my current zone 4 garden. It does nicely and always has plenty of blooms. The color did change slightly in the new climate.

My DH had purchased Strawberry Candy years ago as part of a fundraiser for a local school. By the time I met him, it was a well established clump. We moved to the new house in late 2010 and I transplanted a few fans from the old house to the new one in the spring of 2011. Since then it has bloomed and increased well in its half shaded location. The pic below is from last summer.

As far as rust goes, I've never seen it on Strawberry Candy.

Purchased Strawberry Candy 4 years ago; planted in a heavily planted bed with mixed plant material. The majority of my yard is now semi shade, this area gets morning sun and the rest of the day is semi shade, to late full shade. It took a few years to get established, but has really taken off. Flowers on medium tall scapes (24-26"), beautiful flowers that are always noticed and commented on when it blooms in my zone 4b garden during the month of July. My flowers are a little darker which I attribute to the semi shade conditions. No disease problems that have ever been noticed.

I planted Strawberry Candy last April 2021 in the Patio Bed. I bought a couple of cvs from G Wild for old times sake, and this is the only one that seems to be doing well, despite being in an excellent location. Two have disappeared, two are struggling but Strawberry Candy is happy/smiley. It even bloomed this summer ( four flowers). It's a beautiful color here, a complex mix of pinks and corals.

I would just add that the plant occasionally throws polymerous blooms

I originally purchased Strawberry Candy from a big box store and then gave that plant away because I thought the coloring was off. In 2018, I purchased the plant from Cheryl Day ($4 in 2022 on her site - http://www.cheryldaylilies.com...). I think the coloring is a little more pink on the new plant.

It has multiplied from a double fan to over 20 fans in just four years. No rust here in zone 6b. It blooms from about mid-June to mid-July.

Branching and bud count seem to be low, but I haven't really counted. I think the branching was better in 2021. I also think the height was better in previous years, but 2022 was an off year because many of my daylilies seemed to be shorter this year.

7/2/2022 - most scapes seemed to be top-branched in 2022.

The color does fade throughout the day. This picture is from 2020 and it is still a pretty small clump, but really exploded in the last two years.

9/24/2020 - Got a rebloom scape in 2020, but don't think it has done this since that year. This picture was also taken in the evening, but with the cooler weather, the color didn't fade as much. Still looks pretty good!

As Dave mentioned, it will poly occasionally, which is fun to find.
Thumb of 2022-08-27/blue23rose/e7a9ec

All in all, it is a nice garden plant with pretty blooms.

2022 update… SC has more than tripled itself in two years, standing at 7 fans this October. It did not contract any rust although nearby plants were very rusty. This summer, SC bloomed from July 3-23 with over 20 flowers. So far, so good!
