I brought home some compostable coffee cups and lids last night from a function I went to, and I'm wondering whether or not it is a smart idea to put them in my worm compost bin. (I'm not sure our recycling place will take them.)
I presume the lid is made from corn and the cups are a thick paper lined with something.

Thoughts?

Good question but I have no idea. Do you have a yard waste compost pile that you can put these into?

I guess you could try it and see what happens. I know some folks put all types of paper products into their worm bins. Run an experiment on the lids with some water to see if they'll break down with a good soaking. I generally stick to newspapers but experimenting today with adding used coffee filters. I keep the used coffee grounds for my garden beds but then have all of the filters left.
