What's Blooming in August

By LarryR
August 15, 2011

This article launches a new feature at All Things Plants. On the 15th of each month I will highlight plants blooming here at Cottage-in-the-Meadow Gardens. I'll have photos and will discuss the plants featured. You're invited to discuss these plants, too, but just as important, you're encouraged to show us what's blooming in your garden each month. I'll also have a monthly contest called "Name that Bloom." The first person to correctly identify the plant will have a photo of his/her choice published and featured in the following month. Be sure to check out this month's mystery flower at the end of this article.

That is a great idea for shipping small items. What did you put the pill bottle in Larry? An evelop, small box?

Larry, the bulbils arrived safe and sound today! Thank you so much! They were larger than I expected, and most have little dots of green that look ready to take off and start growing! Can't wait to see those little green babies coming up! Thank you again for sharing!

Is it awful to say that now I'll think of you every time I see a Japanese beetle? LOL

Not any worse, Angie, than my friend, a farmer, who wrote a song to his wife called "When I'm Haulling Manure, I'm Thinking of You!" Hilarious!

Lynn, I packed cotton balls in the bottle to keep the bulbils from rattling around in it and then put the bottle in a regular padded mailing envelope.
