I was out looking for shredded leaves also, found some but the great majority I had to shred myself, or either use therm like they were. I took a bag full down to the bog garden and dumped them out, Yeow!!! A copperhead came crawling by just in front of me. Not sure if he came out of the bag, or just moved when I dumped the bag. Anyhow, I quickly found a metal rod and dispatched him. I had a hard time finding him when I came back with the rod, he blended right in with the leaves, making it hard to find him if he was not moving.

Scary. We don't seem to have any dangerous snakes around here. Just milksnakes which can sure put on a show.... they coil up and "rattle" their tails (which don't have rattles) like a rattlesnake. Even when you KNOW it's a milksnake it's scary....
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."
