Hmmm... just wondering if there is something I should be doing with my seed list, while dormant should I mark them grey again?

Good question... I've actually marked all of mine as "not public" -- maybe I shouldn't have at this point?

I made mine not public and as I package seeds and replenish them I change them to 'not yet available' pending another swap. Overkill? I might be doing more than is necessary, but when I add something new I do the same.

That is a good question. I'm all ears!

Sandy, the EAB got them. Sad The killing damage actually happened years ago, but it's taken a few years to get them all out. The biggest hurdles were their massive size, and their proximity to the house. Some trunks were a very few feet away from the edge of it, while the rest were well within striking range. It was a delicate and time-intensive removal process.

Chelle, that's a bummer Sad . EAB is up here too; they're trying to slow it down, but I doubt they will be very successful.

That really must have been quite a project to take out big trees that were so close to your house!

It doesn't matter what state you have your seeds in, as you are not in a currently active swap. People can still view your seed list but that's all they can do.

I'd suggest leaving them as ready so that in future trades you're ready to go without having to go in and mark them as ready again.

Okay, I guess it doesn't matter if you do or don't join the next swap; your seed list will only show up if you join a swap. Thumbs up

Well, your seed list is visible whether you're in a swap or not. It's just read-only and nobody can initiate a trade with you other than tree mailing you directly.

This has to be some kind of speed record for mail going from here to anywhere! (USPS could ruin their reputation this way if they aren't careful Hilarious! )

Nope, they are keeping their reputation well intact. We were to get a priority package the 2nd, it came today.

I sent mine out on December 1st and it didn't arrive until the 5th, either. (I sent it Priority/3-day.) Oh well. Rolling my eyes. I'm just glad it went out on the first; the postal worker (really nice guy who has been at that post office for many years) set it aside and said he was going to add extra tape to the box for me, but I was worried he might forget to send it out before the cutoff time that day (or just forget to send it out?). I was watching the tracking information with bated breath, LoL! Fortunately, it did go out that day before the cutoff time, but December 1st brought on all of the beginning of the holiday madness at the post office, so things are just slow now. That's something I think I'll have to remember for future swaps.

The parking lot at my post office was 100% full and backed up out the driveway ... even the self-service kiosk had a waiting line.

I used to use PayPal to print postage - very convenient and slightly discounted from full price. They called it "Multi-order sipping". Now the service is unavailable from PayPal, or at least they wouldn't let me use it that day.

But December does seem to be a "sweet spot" for seed trades: after harvest, before winter-sowing, and not much happening in Northern gardens.

Great! I mailed mine December 4, 2015, at 10:55 am
On Dec 7, at 10:16 am, it went out for delivery in JACKSONVILLE, TX.

Three days: good job, USPS!

I just glanced at my "bought" list to remind myself what I had ordered and was surprised to see that I had more coming than the number noted at the end of the swap.
Upon further investigation it appears that the seeds I am receiving from Horntoad are now listed twice. I only requested them once and they were correctly listed before now. For example, I now have two Striped rosemallow (Hibiscus striatus subsp. lambertianus) listed. Anyone else?

Yes, Poisondart, I just checked and my 'bought' list jumped from 70 to 75.

hm. I wonder if it is just horntoad's listings that are duplicated?
