We have this growing in two different areas and they are cared for differently. One group is in a very dry bed and are old and woody small plants, pictured above, that are just lightly pruned at first frost which has already occurred somewhat early this year. The other group are in a shadier position and receive more water and have amended soil. It has spread through underground runners year to year. These I shear right down to the ground every year and that was done yesterday. This is a very adaptable plant with great silver foliage to go with the deep blue flower color. Its carefree most of the year and it's drought tolerant. I love it.
