Well down to three. The other 7 either did not come up or keeled over. See above.

Fairly certain that the one sad looking one of the 3 will bite the dust as well. I have a lot of experience watching seedlings die.

The other 2 still look fairly good - quite small, but fairly good.

Well, I just read through this entire post only to find your seedlings all died. How sad.
At least you got good germination, I really hate it when I buy super special seeds and none germinate.
I'm a lover unusual plants too and have been known to try several times to get that special plant to grow for me.
Next time you'll have better luck.

David, that has to be very frustrating, after having them sprout and start growing... Sad
Do you think you'll try them again? (I think I would have to... "these seeds will NOT defeat me!" Hilarious! )

I will probably try these again sometime. Rolling my eyes.

I think next time though, I will NOT start them in my basement. Will wait til after Mother's Day and give em a shot outside.
Also - I will definitely NOT plant all the seeds at the same time.

At this point I have no grand plans. My coconut seems to have failed too, but that WAS expected. nodding

Next up! Moving my Windmill Palm out and in the ground in a couple to weeks to join my Musa basjoo outside. Hurray!

Near it are my perennial Canna and Hardy Kiwi as well as the banana. And when they grow a bit, I will sink the pots for my Musa velutina and White Bird of Paradise. Toss in a couple of Elephant Ears and my jungle will be all set.

Back on topic -- too bad for my seedlings as I had a place of honor chosen for them in my new desert area. Sighing!
