Does the member who originally posted the picture get some kind of notification that another member linked it to the database? I for instance would like to know. I don't want to be opposed to such action because I think it is helpful in general. But I just want to be kept in the loop in case there is a PARTICULAR picture I would rather not be linked in.

Also, this sounds like fun. But this time of year is way to crazy for me to have time to participate. I'll have to keep it in mind for my winter slow time after the contest is over.

Indeed so, the owner of the image gets a system message letting them know their image was associated with a plant.

I have not received a message so I'm assuming that no one has "associated" any of my (most excellent ) images, but I think the message that folks receive must indicate who associated their image as I have received two thank you T-mails. This is a fun contest. Hope it becomes a regularly scheduled feature.

Most of my images are of my dogs...and the kitten...(in the Sandbox where they belong) but occasionally I have been known to post an image of a plant. Good luck and I hope you can find a good one.

Yes, if you get a notice it tells you who added it to the database.

I apologize here and now for the couple of duplicate photos I have associated! But am amazed at some of the great photos I have found. I have tried to be very diligent in checking photos before I submit them.

The pictures have the copyright emblem showing on them.

I like your attitude greene! Someone found a photo of mine that I had not submitted to the database and I got an acorn because it was the first one of mine to be added to the db of that cultivar. Winners all around

Many nurseries and companies have allowed us to use their images, and they should have their copyrights showing.

Is there some way of telling where an image came from? One of mine was tagged as Clear Crystals Alyssum Purple Shades, and I'm not certain that it's correct. It doesn't look quite like Clear Crystals, and I have grown other purple alyssum. If I could find the thread where the photo appeared, I might could confirm one way or the other.

Oh, great! Thank you. It bothered me because the growth habit in that photo looked a bit more like the Oriental Nights I've grown in the past.

Now I'm wondering why the thread the photo shows up in does NOT appear in the database under "related threads" when the photo is associated with a plant. Yes, I'm a pest.
