Get yourself a little chicken to wander thru the garden....ever since I got hens who run free, I haven't seen a slug or snail. Of course, they do get messy themselves with mulch and scratching and things.

Hi Annie,..its unusual for me to have a slug problem this time of year but its so mild this winter that they are still out and about,..in spring and summer my slug population is reduced about 90% because i have some Hedgehogs living in the garden,..two that i have spotted together and there could be more,..they hibernate during winter regardless of the mild weather.

A chicken would be good though with a small garden it would create havoc Whistling

I think hedgehogs are so adorable. Here we have GROUNDhogs...about 10 times the size of a hedgehog and not so adorable when they eat your entire garden to the ground. But they are sort of cute...at a distance. Some people call them "whistle pigs"..I never knew why until one day I was out in the garden and our resident groundhog was sitting up nearby making this loud almost birdlike whistling call that was being answered from a distant groundhog.
