I agree

And it gets tiny green seedballs that stick in Josie's fur like anything!

Speaking of milkweed, would anybody want Asclepias syriacus seedlings? They're popping up in places where I don't want them, and if I get them right up they should survive. They do send taproots to China!

Yep that's it and that plant is getting heave-ho. Signed up for free app "iNaturalist" to ID plants. Not so user friendly to sign on but my stubbornness is paying off.

How to tell if it's a weed or a valuable plant: Give a gentle tug. If it comes up easily, it's a valuable plant!

Actually, those "cleavers" seem to pull up pretty easily.

Couple evenings ago, some crows were making a real racket for the longest time near the house. Finally we look and see a fox crossing the back yard. And that just happened again. I was in the garden, heard the crows, saw the fox around the edge. When he saw me, he turned the other way and the crows followed to annoy him as he went. ( or she). If not for the crows I would not have looked up and seen it. And saw our black snake again. So voles, be gone!!!
Plant it and they will come.

I thought it was gorgeous at first today. An hour or so in the sun and I'm drenched in sweat! Thankful for the breeze. Gorgeous for sitting in the shade and light tasks only!
Planted some cuke seeds, and Lemon Gem marigold seeds. Warm moist soil and some rain expected should do the trick.
Plant it and they will come.

All this rain! And only in the 50s today. Feels so cold and damp. No yardening for me, but these white azaleas that Mike brought home from a job site photograph nicely with the rainy cloud cover. The client had planted them along her foundation 40 years ago and they were so overgrown for the space. She asked Mike to pull them out with the backhoe while he was there repairing her sewer line, but was really sad about it. When he said he would try to replant them here, she felt much better. It turns out that they were shallow rooted and pulled out easily. They transplanted with no problems at all. That was a few years ago and they have bloomed profusely each spring since.

Much prettier today than yesterday! Even tho I woke to 47 degrees! It's warming nicely.
I've been considering Adirondack chairs for the yard, these are a more friendly price at around 100. I have a hard time settling on a color but I think Apple Green is my fave

Sally, I like them. They come in so many colors too! Apple green looks like a fun color.

For the fire pit area I ended up getting composite chairs that look somewhat like Adirondack chairs but sit higher off the ground and much easier for me to get in and out of. They were really pricey though and I cringe at how much it cost for 5 of them. They will last my lifetime though. Was it worth it to have it just a tad easier for short little me? I don't know about that, but I am enjoying them.

And yes, it is much better weather today. A bit chilly, but right now the sun is out. Weather app is predicting that the rain will start again around 6:00pm. I've been puttering about outside since about 9:00 this morning. Potting up containers for now, but also strolling about.

Sally (donner), three of the five foxgloves you passed on to me last fall are blooming! I am ecstatic. So many other things are blooming too. Every day is something new. ITOH peony 'Cora Louise' has a bloom open this morning. I've had it for a few years, but this is first ever bloom. I got it at Costco and it is a pretty one!

My foxgloves from Donner are the light pink - the same as the photo Sally just posted.

I spent a few hours today adding top soil, planting, and adding mulch around the grotto. I used pass along ferns that I've been holding in the staging area until all the stonework debris was cleaned up. I had 3 ostrich ferns from Rick, 3 painted ferns from ?, and I dug up a clump of maidenhair ferns from the overgrown front steps bed. I recently purchased chinese ginger to use as a low growing ground cover in front of it. It started raining before I was completely done with the mulch, so I hope to finish that up tomorrow. I also planted some of the containers - front steps urns, conservatory urns, a tall green ceramic pot, and four little pots with white impatiens and ivy.

I am a muddy, muddy mess and stripped my clothes off in the laundry room. I was walking tall with inches of mud stuck to the bottom of my shoes. Heading upstairs to take a hot bath and get into clean clothes, probably my pjs, and call it a day.
