It had finally bloomed and I was going to update the growers report and upload some pictures of buds and blooms. Well it was obvious that this was a different Salvia. I didn't buy it and don't know where it came from. I may find out later but for now it's ATP to the rescue. It is about six feet tall and started blooming in December.

Another possibility may be Salvia gesneriiflora 'Tequila'. Shrug!

Unfortunately, there is a lot of mis-labeling in salvias.....
I could be wrong...

Thank you Jean, Green and Sherry. It matches S. 'Tequila' to a tee even to the breakage problems Iv'e had. Several, more than half the canes broke at the base. There very brittle. It can get very large up to 10 feet high and wide! I'll have to move it in the spring after it finishes blooming or maybe next fall would be better. Happy Holidays! I tip my hat to you.

Last I read, it was thought to be most like Big Mexican Scarlet Sage (Salvia gesneriiflora 'Tequila')
