I just wanted to wish Merry Christmas to those who celebrate and a very happy holiday season to everyone!

Hug your loved ones today (and every day), because that's what is all about.

And remember, if Santa didn't quite give you everything you wanted, there's still the seed swap! Big Grin

Merry Christmas to you too!!! This year I didn't bother with a tree. My son's in the Army & can't come in & my daughter is spending Christmas with the in-laws. My sister decided to have dinner at her house so we'll go there. I bought a 10 pound bag of rice for $3 but am finding out thats a lot of rice when you only use a cup or two at a time. So, I'm making rice pilaf & rice pudding!!!!

Kathy, we didn't put up a tree, either. We decorated, but we spent Christmas at my parents' house this past weekend, at my husband's cousin's house yesterday, and today will be at my mother-in-law's house. We didn't want to do a tree if no one is coming here to see it (although we did other decorations).

Please tell your son thank you for his service. Lovey dubby I never fully appreciated everything they go through in the military until I married a military guy myself. It takes a lot of dedication and heart. Your son must be a great guy. (And you a great mom...it's tough having a son in the military...that takes a certain type of courage, respect, and love.)

As for your rice, sounds delicious! Big Grin I'm a huge fan of rice pudding! Thumbs up

Thanks!!! He just back from S. Korea & is stationed (is that what its called?) in Hawaii with his family so he doesn't have it bad like the guys in Afganistan & similar places. And at least he's with his wife & 2 year old son.

I learned something while this was going on for the New Year

When drying seeds .. They do not stick to coffee filters ,
Well when I read back through pages of info , People have been telling me that for years ,, *Blush*

A better way to strain tomato seeds ,and dry ,, cooool

Jim, I like coffee filters better than paper towels for Dr. Deno-style germination, too. The roots don't penetrate coffee filters, and I can write the name directly on those filters.

After seeds are no longer dripping wet, I like to finish drying them in paper envelopes with the name written right on the envelope. If I ever want to dry 100 or 200 small batches of seeds, that's how I would do it. No cats knocking over paper plates!
