Pretty much the same here. Amanda, we have much the same weather conditions. We did have a spell of cooler temps plus much lower humidity; it was heavenly, but it's over now. Yesterday the humidity was so thick you could have cut it with a knife. More to follow, and much higher temps until this time next week.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.

Heading to another triple digit day, as always very dry, smoky haze horizon, unhealthy air quality.

Right now 88F and 33% humidity, 157 AQI Unhealthy. Forecast high later at 102F.

Hot and dry. The humidity level isn't as bad today. There are large clouds building, we might have a little rain shower. I sure hope so!

Still hot and humid although we had a nice breeze today. I'll be out watering my pots in a bit.

Prayers for all in path of Ida!!!

Triple digit heat....single digit relative humidity...hot and hotter...dry and drier... Rolling my eyes. Air quality moderate, at least that is not too bad for today. Got to stay AC friendly for now.

Cooling down tonight. Cool front moved through so low 80s for highs for next couple days then shoots back up to high 80s. Dry and drier but that's normal this time of year so not complaining.

Much the same here. The temps here will be higher, but without humidity it's very bearable. No rain for at least 10 days or so. Very dry, and watering every day, but I was already doing that anyway.

Had 0.39" rain the night of the 19-20th. Got our first hard frost last night, the 21st: 24°F / -4°C. That about two weeks later than our average. The forecast for the coming week is for nights in the low 30s and sunny days in the 60s.

We had a cool front move through, bringing us some much needed rain! Very nice outside now, around 55 degrees at 5:30 am. Alas, it won't last; back up to 90 by Sunday. Still, we have very low humidity, which lets it get much cooler at night.

Half an inch of rain the other day but back to dry weather and slowly warming back up to low 90s again. I'm loving this cool weather so want it to last. Sighing!

The cool weather will be here soon, I keep telling myself! I'm sure your October weather is similar to ours, Amanda. Just beautiful, really clear blue skies, bright sunlight, cool at night and in the 70s during the day. I love fall here!
November is one of our rainiest months, ugh.

The frost has lit up the narrowleaf cottonwoods along the river.

Beautiful, Chip! Sure wish we had cottonwoods here. We don't have a lot of trees that turn that pure gold here.

We have cottonwoods everywhere around here. They're easy growers and in spring time shed their cottony fluff everywhere. We have several at our other place. Big enough you can't wrap your arms all the way around.

Hot today and tomorrow before finally dropping to normal temps. 90s today and tomorrow, rain starting Wed.

I stand corrected. We DO have cottonwoods! Just finished reading an article about the biggest persimmon tree in the nation at Dardanelle. It received that title in 1987, but it had inside rot and had to be cut down. A local woodworker rescued the wood from a burn pile and made a bench from it, and the bench now rests at the University of Arkansas research station at Pine Bluff.
The article also mentioned that Dardanelle also hold the states largest trees for these species; white oak, pecan and you guessed it; cottonwood!
Dardanelle is a very old settlement situated on the bank of the Arkansas river, and has very rich river soil. I always buy my pecans there, folks sell them from trees in their front yards.
