A nice report & butterfly fix for the day Melanie. Thanks! We've been through a real cold spell up here so I haven't seen any for 4 or 5 days. Warming up tomorrow for 2 days & then back cold again so I will be surprised if I see any anytime soon. Besides, after the frosts we had, the firespike is toast so no nectar to be had there, the spanish needle got toasted too. Too bad the weeds didn't seem to get toasted. I was hoping they would end up like frozen lettuce but drat! they only seemed to get a little set back. We need a good freeze!

Of course I could not replicate Florida Full Sun Maybe I could stand above the plant with a bigggggg magnifying glass?

Even if I do not see a butterfly that I like ( especially hard to do now since we are SOOOOooooooo OT), I simply come here for Melanie's sense of humour.

Well Duhhhh Critter - I told you this was the place to be. This and duh Bird threads And every now and then we actually talk about "Gardening for ..." believe it or not.

Not much gardening going on for most of you, I'd guess. So we have to talk about something! I'm about to leave for my field trip with the Florida Wildflower Foundation to Orlando Wetlands Park. I can't believe I'm awake this early! Got my new Timberland hiking boots on, too! Full report when I get back - unless I crash into a coma which is highly likely.

I have at least 1 bird photo but I have to get time to get it out of the camera & onto the computer & then to here. Right now, packaging meat from the grocery store calls me to duty, then lunch making, eating & cleaning that up. Later folks!

BTW folks - I was appointed Northwest Missouri Regional Coordinator for Missourians for Monarchs yesterday.

Just trying to keep this on topic.

Down the road I am sure in that position I will have lots to share here.

Here, look at this Barred Sulphur I saw yesterday while you're waiting. It's going to be a while until I post my thread. I took about 400 pictures!
