@cliftoncat Mika, that's got to be the prettiest little Sparrow I've ever seen, love the colors! And, your "Tabs" is a lovely kitty! Lovey dubby How kind of you and your husband to have befriended her!

@flaflwgrl Ann, great shot of that pretty Ground Dove! I don't think I've ever seen one here.

@crittergarden I wonder what that interesting bird is ... love the coloration on that one! I googled to see if I could find a match with birds of Asia and I think it might be the Orange-headed Thrush: http://www.bing.com/images/sea...

I think you are right about the Thrush.

Feeling a bit puny today so I haven't been out to take any pictures; yesterday was quite windy but I got managed to get a couple when I was outside with the dog between the storms.

Cute Lin.

I have Cardinals every day on my platform feeder which I keep just for them. Love to watch the males and females spatting with each other.

Now as I look out the window at the feeder, I see Mr. Squirrel. Almost bought some corn on cobs for them but way too pricey! I should have collected some in the fall for free. Sighing!

I've suspended a net made of old window screening on a hoop below my big birdfeeder, to collect at least some of the seed that the birdies spill around. The squirrels eat out of the net quite happily most of the time. A few are light enough to jump up to the feeder and make it release more seeds, but it is (more or less) squirrel proof, with the little ports that close when too much weight is on the perch so it seems to be a happy arrangement.

I get to see birds and squirrels without the squirrels hogging all the seed. My other feeders are on a 6ft. metal pole and I grease the pole so the squirrels can't climb it.

Lovely though, both of them!

The Pinterest shot you posted is really gorgeous, critter - both the bird, and the whole picture with the water flying around.

That cat photo is the cutest! He's lucky to have others caring for him. We got our pets from the Humane Shelter. All were abandoned.

Mika. Love yer kitty and the story.
When my stepson passed away in 2010 we brought home his cat Yoshi. He had saved Yoshi after he found her wandering around near starved to death

Yoshi is the most skitzy cat one could imagine even after nearly 6 years.

I think with some cats, things are ingrained forever.

[Edited - Yoshi is Female - not a him. Sometimes my brain does not work right.]

David, I do not seem to find a translation for 'skitzy' to spanish. Can you please explain the term to me?

Thanks; Melanie! That makes sense to me when we are talking about an adult cat that had to move to a new home and new people, plus his previous abandonment.

It takes time, but even those kitties starve for love and can/will change their attitude. It is nery nice that David and family adopted him!

Pretty much so. [So sorry Ursula.] - It is a slang term .... Ursula see:

http://onlineslangdictionary.c...

It might help with some of our terms you wonder about.

skitzy

schizophrenic. Often changing one's mind; acts a certain way one minute then completely differently the next.

That is classic Yoshi.

Yoshi adores human pets. But you have to move very slow. Too fast and she JUMPS turns and runs. FAST.

She will rub against my leg and when I reach down to pet her - off she goes.

She comes in and turns right around and goes out and then immediately comes in...

So yes - the word skitzy defines Yoshi. [Will try to find a pic. She is tiny and completely Black.]

Well - when my step Son died, Yoshi was one of the few things we had.

And after nearly 6 years, Yoshi is still skitzy. Smiling
