Mike - Beautiful!!! Love the reference to the Hole in the Bucket Dear Henri I remember it well! I am so jealous of your asters - I used to have beautiful asters at previous house but rabbits didn't leave mine alone this year - didn't even get an inch tall and NO blooms
Clint - your Hibiscus absolutely amaze me!!! And you have my favorite colors too

So in the midst of my bloom withdrawal symptoms, and since I can't remember if I already shared this (sorry if I forgot - see Sandbox you know when you're old when forum ) I ordered two Joseph's Coat Climbing Roses, Milkshake Coneflower, and Dazzleberry Sedum, ALL because of recommendations on this site I told you this site is dangerous

Deebie they get to 2 to 3 metres tall, with a spread of up to 3 metres. I have had to prune the leaves closest to that path next to the house so I can get through to the back. I have been using a systemic to keep the lily borers out. The caterpillars of that moth Brithys crini (alias Amaryllis borer, Crinum borer or Kew arches) can turn them into a melted cesspool. However, I now have native bee hives and I suspect I cannot use it any more. The moth may win this year.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Thanks. I'm so sorry to hear about the caterpillars. I wonder if we have those here? I'll have to check. I do have some Crinium pedunculatum seedlings that I started from seeds from a generous member. The seeds were so large that I thought they were bulbs. I'll have to be careful where I plant them. I think a border of crinums will be lovely. I want to cut back the leaves of my other crinums before the frost turns them to mush. They are a mess to work with at that stage and a pain to transplant as the bulbs are so large/long.
