I am going to put together some photo's of Adenium obesum seeds which I have started from individuals batches of seeds.
I kept a number of seedlings from a batch of seeds so that I could see the differences in growth as well as the blooms.
Will put the photo's together.

These are from seed sold as "Double Black Madonna"

'mornin' guys!

Rick, great that you're showing pictures of parent plant and its seedling flowers. This one is showing some characteristics of mother in the petal form. Who knows, maybe the progeny of the seedling will be closer in characteristics to the original.

Morning Kadie. How do you know that they look like the mother? I do not have a clue what it does look like.

Willeke, I looked up Double Black Madonna. Rick's pictures are the seedling flowers. Here's the parent plant:

Wow. That is totally different. I already could not imagine that one of these was black Madonna. They really do not look alike at all.

Yes...even among the batch of seeds there are differences. By the way, Willeke, the other two adenium seedlings (among the batch of red adenium seeds I grew) have started to open their blooms. They are totally different from the first seedling bloom. I will take pictures and post here later.

I agree that would be so boring. Would it not. The same with seedlings. If they all would be the same. Although it also does make things more difficult. I have to choose when they are bigger. So that will be difficult if they are all pretty. Sighing!

Kadie,
Thank you for posting the photo of the Double Black Madonna. I did not have it on hand and was on my way out.

My seeds came from Adeniumcenter from Thailand back in 2010. She was the first to be producing seed from this tree.

It is interesting to see the differences and this is why I decided to keep 10 seedlings so that I could see the difference in characteristics as well as bloom. Never expected to get anything the same.

They have come so far since 2010 with all the hybridizing in controlled set ups. We are seeing more solid dark colors and the Yellows are on their way to being more stable and hold color longer.
David Clulow is making wonderful crosses and Ko is still working hard at this too.

@Adeniumgirl

Remember this one that I had posted in my blooms thread?

Here are two other blooms from seeds that came in the same batch as above.

They are nearly 8 months old and desperately need to be up-potted from the 5" containers. The pots are about to split, but I wanted to wait until the blooms opened. I did not cut the tap root or nip the terminal apex on these...I was experimenting.
