Also, when she hears late-night keyboarding, she sometimes asks:

"Are you propagating with those Flower Ladies again?!?"

I have not ordered from any of these companies in so long that I do not get any junk mail from any of them. I do look forward to my plant delights catalog. I trust them and everything I have ordered has been trialed, healthy, and a decent size. I ordered grass seed and garlic several years ago from a really great small farm. I need to look and see if I can find their info and add it to the green pages. I can not remember the name of the company at this time. I always get in the logees catalog to, but I just can not afford the kinds of things they sell for the small size they come in.

I just happened to pop in here and chuckle at the friendly banter: Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

I have to interject though that my indulgences in the plant addiction are only to be answered by me. I buy in the group buys from Mamajack when I pop in at the right time. I'll stop at my local 2, 3, 4, (oh I forget) favorite local nurseries and pick up whatever I can carry in the forerunner. So when I say I have to answer to me? I kick myself in the back side when I can't figure out where to put them all and certainly when I run out of energy to do it.

Then I kick myself again when I don't tag them and can't remember where I put what. I still can't find that butterfly bush I got....I think it may have died immediately.

But then I don't go to the mall, hang around in shoe stores and the last dresses I bought were probably 15 years ago. I've been saving the cash for plants!

Yall spoke of those mags that come in from the frowned on distributors, I have never bought from them yet they still keep sending things for the burn barrel. Wish I had a fireplace for that stuff. It would give me comfort on these cold nights to know I put them to good use.

We had a bad freeze last night and all those flowers that have been blooming in the "false spring" went to mush at 28 degrees this morning. We usually have our first freeze in November so all the potted tenders have been put in the barn so they were safe from this.

True. But their stuff is always high quality.

I canceled an order awhile back simply cause of postage. Two sale items would have been ~ 25 $ and then nearly 14 $ for postage. I said screw it.

I agree Molly. No malls for me either. I really do not like them especially after one time I called my boyfriend at the time in a panic because I thought someone stole my truck. Turns out I parked on a different level on the other side and got turned around Hilarious! I sure don't mind getting lost in a garden center though. Thumbs up

David, did you see the orange begonias on the cover of Logees this month?

Yep. So tempted by so many things. Shipping kills you though. And I DO NOT ship plants this time of year.

BTW - stay away from all the Malls. Thaey make you part with your money. Rolling on the floor laughing

Been thinking about your plant showing up....maybe just be so over the moon happy and excited and hug your husband and thank him over and over...telling him how much you love it and how long you have wanted it...and what a great deal you got.

I looked around and found prices for your mimosa as much as $100 plus shipping...so yes, you got it for 33% less than that. All of those statements are true and he will be, hopefully, overwhelmed by your happiness. Whistling

Thanks guys Group hug

It is here. Ta da! All seventeen inches of dead looking twig. Four of it is the root stock. I checked on the tracking again and it was waiting for me at the post office. Hubby got a late start today, so I was impatiently waiting for him to leave so I could leave right after him. I have a few red Pride of Barbados that were started from seed so I will just tuck it in with those under a warm plant light to get a head start on the growing season. When the purple leaves start making a statement the deed will have been done long ago Angel

Sorry for the bad photo, but not much to look at right now anyway. I told the plant it would be loved, would never be shipped again, and that it would have a great home with plenty of sunshine. I potted it up and watered it with rain water. Now for the waiting to leaf out part. I am sure I will be checking on it at least three times a day everyday until it does.

Thumb of 2016-01-13/Esperanza/01dbb5

Do you all think it should remain a potted plant this year or go straight in the ground this spring?

I was saving this next part for after the tree arrived.
You could tell your husband that you want to look young forever, not have sagging skin, not have big old eye bags and dark circles under your baby blues (or whatever color your eyes may be) and that the flower extract of this plant has been studied and show effective.

Hope your plant lives a long and happy life; it is known as "The Happiness Tree".

I will now look to see if it is legal to take cuttings for ones own use...
