Never heard of it working IN the soil..dried and then burnt ..may be the smoke aspect but then anything burned should do it

Good home remedies for bee stings. Hope I won't get a chance to use them. nodding

Starbucks offers free coffee grounds for home gardens. You can call your local Starbucks if you wish to use this organic fertilizer.

Yup....one year my front yard smelled like a Starbucks for almost a week
“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...

Coffee grounds are also great fertilizer for acid lovers. I'll have to start collecting some.

About 3 years ago--I asked my local "7 Eleven" to save me all their coffee grinds for me.
I promised to come every 2 days and pick up the bucket where they discard the used up
coffee filters. I did!
But--then I spent an hour sorting out the filters and other trash from the bucket.
I guess people were just using it as a trash bucket.

As it usually is with my desires to do something good for the environment--it did not last long.

To this day--I still have a bucket-half-full of old, soggy coffee grinds. No good --I assume...
Never decided just how I wanted to use them-so there the bucket sits.
Should just dump it on my Endless Summer Hydrangea.

No matter how old, it is still organic matter, and thus functions as a soil amendment. Decomposition may have modified its effect on soil pH.

I used to spread coffee grounds around plants to keep slugs away. They don't like crawling over it. It worked pretty well with some plants, but only if the entire plant was inside the coffee circle.

Black WIdow spiders love to hang out in black containers and I encountered many. I am usually pretty blase about most creatures, including these, but 3 times in one hour I found a small one crawling up my bare leg (shorts) and it really made me wary.

Those fawns are so cute!! Their tummies have gotten quite round from browsing in your yard.

I can't tell what kind of bird that is, but it sure is large. Do you know what it was?

A hawk

I crashed into the wind chimes and tore the screen on the porch.

It perches on that hemlock fence and hunts- it is quick!

I cry so many tears ..they drown. I just took photo for you ..look.
I spooked the little one which was 2 feet in front of my window...and the buck caused a stampede.
Only one photo.

This year the deer are eating things not normally preferred and there is plenty of other stuff to nibble on ...

And they have taken to sleeping on and snapping...autumn joy and zinnia latest causalties.

And worst of all..pulling plants up -- not eating..exposing roots to sun ...and I don't always catch it

Whoops...sorry. Had the iPad on video. Can't upload that here.

Saw this exotic Marble Orb spider on my begonia today. The belly was a bit more than 1/3 of an inch long. He (she?) didn't want to have glamour shots taken though.

I was very glad to have spotted the spider before bringing the plant inside. Blinking
