Yes, it does get cold enough to damage the leaves. The Dutch Iris leaves tend look worse than the muscari.

Wouldn't they be fun to force in one of those head planters! Those long fall leaves would look like hair Hilarious!

Great idea! Rolling on the floor laughing I'll have to see if I can find one of those planters here.

Beautiful, Steve! Love the galanthus varieties! Great yellow color on the amaryllis, and the tulips with those pastel muscari is a great combo Thumbs up

Hi j,

My blooms are about a week later than normal, except for H. Fondant. I had daffodils blooming at this time last year.

H. Fondant has been blooming since January 25th, despite the freezing weather we've been having. They were planted last fall, and started blooming on January 25th. I hope they settle down and bloom at the proper time next year.

Crocus tommasinianus 'Barr's Purple' is one of my favorites- the blooms are showy even when it is cloudy. The 2nd photo is an area where I used to have a bed that has become a wood chopping space. I've dug lots of corms from this spot and spread them around the garden, but a bunch always show back up here. I admire their tenacity- they pay no mind to the traffic or log splitter parked on top of them Smiling

Crocus tommasinianus 'Lilac Beauty'. Some are showing 3 white petals that I hadn't noticed in the past?

Neal, I really like the Scilla siberica - haven't seen that one before. I started a small Galanthus collection last fall, getting a handful of bulbs of five different kinds that were available at Brent and Becky's. By the time I ordered though, 'Floro Pleno' was already sold out so I'll get my order in earlier this year for it. I would love to start getting more variety from the sources that steve_mass mentioned, but they are pretty pricey so will likely only get one or two a year. I love the idea of a large Galanthus collection planted in the garden area I call the 'Fern Bank'.
