Thanks! I've always said that it's the user, not the tool. One of my pet peeves is folks who think it's the camera that makes the picture. If you don't have the vision for the shot, you'll get bupkus no matter what camera you use. My mom spent $300 on a camera back in the 90s, and complained because it still cut off people's heads or feet when she took pictures.
The big difference I've seen between my shots and those of dSLRs is the clarity. My camera has a phenomenal lens (Panasonic camera, Leica lens), but I think a dSLR would have pretty much let you count each individual hair on the bee's bottom. Then again, that might be something those other folks do when processing the photo, as opposed to the actual raw photo itself.
(and you're right - "embiggen" should probably be added to DN's glossary or whatever she calls it.)
