I'm going to make an adjustment to my list. To keep the list at five, I have to cull one already on the list. Kind of like real gardening if you have limited space.
I'm going to drop Suzy Wong. Sorry, Suzy. And I'm adding Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Both are such good performers, but I'm giving the nod to Pee Wee because his bud building is off the charts.
Nan, I saw your picture of Evidence of Light on the June 2023 blooms page and loved it! I can see why it is a favorite.
Like Tim, my fave five has changed since my original post in 2018, so here they are in order. My new very best favorite now is Osterized, purchased in 2021. Huge blooms with cascading petals, but what has me hypnotized with this one is the FRAGRANCE! I can smell it from a few feet away, and this is with just three blooms on it. I am in seventh heaven!
For now the 5 favorite yellows I have are:
The Jury's Out
White Wizard
Pleated Petticoats
Legs Limmer [very light yellow]
& my new bestie Forestlake Briar Patch
There is just no way I can pick favorites. What is a favorite today is because it is blooming, what is a favorite tomorrow will be because it is blooming. So I just did a search in my plant list for yellow selfs. That pretty much narrows the search way down to just solid yellow blooms. I must say it was much easier to say which ones were not my favorites, than which ones were my favorites.
I like the following:
