Muddymitts said:I'm (hopefully) traveling to Minnesota for a niece's wedding on the 21st of May and if I get to go, I'll be traveling through Iowa on the way there. Would put me at Brad's probably on the 19th. Hope Brad won't be on the west coast at that time. And -- on the way home from that wedding, I'll be driving through Wisconsin -- and have every intention of making a Janesville stop!!! Whistling

Of course, I could reverse my course of travel if need be...................... Smiling

Brad's peak is always a bit before mine, so it should work out if his are ready at that time. If this warm weather keeps up, it could be one of those early years and everything would be over. Who knows, but we can keep you posted along the way.

I bought this one potted at last year's Dallas Iris Society April sale. For some reason, my brain hooked onto the name as being a Burseen (it's not) and I got it just for that reason. I am mainly looking forward to it because there does not seem to be a photograph of it in bloom anywhere. Hilarious! Hoping it is one of those serendipity events where the reality turns out to be so much better than the mistaken anticipation.

'Blaring Gale' (Wanda Dow, R. 1988).
Sdlg. MC-1. TB, 33.5" (85 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards greyed yellow (RHS 160D) infused violet (83B) at midrib; Falls violet (83B); greyed orange (163B) beard; ruffled; slight spicy fragrance. 'Mystique' X 'Capricious'. T & H Garden 1992.

Yes Neal, and I couldn't resist adding it !- although it won't be blooming this year. The rest were
planted last year, or in 2014.

Well you never know, sometimes (as Tom mentioned) those Australian rhizomes get confused and bloom the first spring, so we might get a "sneak preview" Smiling

I am most curious about the many un-tagged SDBs from the Maine Iris Society swap. I have a whole walkway flanked with them. Smiling And then there are Arlyn's gazillion historics to emerge! Otherwise, whatever rebloomers I can cross.
Don't make fear based decisions.
