This has to be one of my favorite shade plants of all time. Bleeding Hearts are all very nice, but "Gold Heart' actually glows in the shade. The specific yellow/gold shade of the leaves makes it really pop in the shade. The unique thing too is that that foliage color not only accents the gorgeous pink hearts, but the color also places a "light" so to speak, and highlights plants in the surrounding area too. (Thanks Marilyn..nice pic!)

I agree It's a fantastic Bleeding Heart and really brightens up the shade garden. It's like having a glow in the dark plant. Beautiful.

Of all my shade plants this is by far the most spectacular. And the show lasts a long time. Dicentra 'Golden Heart' does not go dormant in my garden until the end of July/beginning of August. I agree

Felisa, it does not go dormant until fall here! The foliage stays nice and glowy all through the summer. Thank you for your comments!

Love Gold Heart... Early to show in the spring, and I don't have to cut it down until fall. Very nice lush looking plant, and the foliage lights up your shade garden.
